The 5-foot-9 2018 has played with Roots Sports Academy in past offseasons, and plans to do the same after this season.
And though his recruitment has yet to start up, he’s hoping for the best this summer.
“I haven’t really been in contact with too many colleges. I’m going to try and send out videos to some of the ones that I know or that who my coach knows. My Roots coach plays overseas right now, so hopefully he can help me out and get a couple college looks,” said Wallace.
“So the plan is to go play for Roots this summer and try and get somewhere. We’re going to try and get some of the best players from around this area and put together the best team we can so we can all get noticed — just trying to put together the best team and see what happens.”
A playmaker with a flare for the dramatic, Wallace mentioned that getting his teammates involved is priority number one, but he can score in bunches too.
“I like to get other people involved if I can, and I like to play really good defense; that’s kind of my thing, is defense, because defense really does win games.” he said. “And if I’m not distributing the ball I like to shoot 3s, that’s one of my favorite things to do.”
Wallace told PHWA that he’s averaging 17 points per game this season, and his role for the Indians is to be the leader on offense.
“We have one or two other guys that help carry the load on the offensive end, but if they’re not getting it done then usually I have to step in and try and score,” said Wallace. “But usually I’m trying to get them the ball.”
