He’s averaging 18.3 points per game, and while he was scoring most of his points from the paint early on, he’s been moving his game out to the perimeter more of late.
In a recent win over Hastings, Keller dropped three triples en route to a 29 point, 10 rebound performance
He explained his playing style to PHMI, and what he considers his strengths to be as a player.
“My best move is probably my spin-move, and I can go outside a bit and hit mid-range and 3s. I convert at the free-throw line pretty well, and I consider myself to be a pretty good leader out there on the court; I’m a captain of my team,” said Keller, who defined what his role is with the Titans.
“This year I play the whole game except for about two minutes, and I’m the leading scorer and leading rebounder. I have the highest basketball IQ on the team, so I try and help all my teammates and stuff like that.”
In order to continue and diversify his skill-set, Keller says shedding some weight is one thing that he’ll need to do.
“I’m trying to lose weight and gain more muscle so I can get faster,” he said. “And after I do all that, I want to get more assists and get my teammates involved more.”
Last summer, for his 15U offseason, Keller played with Greenwood Elite. He plans to play with them again this spring and summer.
He’s also a football guy, though.
“I don’t know really which one (football or basketball) is my favorite, but people tell me I’m better at football,” said Keller.
Still, he’s planning to be in the gym plenty this spring and summer, and will be proactive with his recruitment too.
“I’m going to start to make contact with schools I’m interested in,” said Keller. “And send out some emails and just hope for the best.”
