Continue ReadingLincolnton High School reaped the benefits of having one of North Carolina’s most prolific scorers transfer in this season with Sage Surrat moving from East Lincoln High School. Surrat is a big-time scorer with multiple games of 40+ points. Another nice new addition for Lincolnton is freshman point guard Kris Robinson.
2020 PG Kris RobinsonRobinson is a 5-foot-10 floor general who has started off the season averaging around 15 points per game. He can score from all over the floor. He is best from outside of the three-point line. He has great form on his shot, can spot up or catch and shoot off the ball. He has good court vision and can find the open slots in transition. A change of pace helps him get past defenders and he can finish at the basket with either hand.
Robinson along with Surratt and junior Robbie Cowie, Lincolnton is off to a 10-1 start and have been ranked in the top 5 in the state for all of the season. Their lone loss came at the hands of West Caldwell High School 77-71. The Wolves are in second place in the Southern District 7 Conference standing behind West Caldwell.
Robinson was thrust into the starting point guard role after starting quarterback and point guard Cordell Littlejohn transferred to a school in Georgia. So far, Robinson has more than been ready for the task.
