The 2017 calendar year started off strong with a good week of hoops. Here are your five nominees for the PrepHoopsIllinois Player of the Week! Make sure you vote for your favorite through Wednesday night!
Malcolm Miller (Shebyville)
The sophomore wing has had a very good season and that continued this past week. On Friday night he went for 24 points and hit the game winning three at the buzzer.
Taylor Bruninga (Illini Bluffs)
Bruninga could be up for this every week with the numbers he is posting. When you go for 49 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 blocks against Athens you deserve the nomination!
Max Muller (Porta)
The underrated senior wing is a versatile small forward that can really shoot it. He had 33 points on 6-8 from three point at the Winchester Invitational.
Joey Coffaro (Hersey)
Coffaro set the school three point record during a 21 point and 5 assist performances this past week against Rolling Meadows.
Carson Newsome (Waukegan)
Newsome had a dominant performance against Zion Benton. The Wisconsin Milwaukee commit dropped 32 points in the road win.
