MVP: Matt Halvorsen- The WCU recruit poured in 19 points for the Greenies while going 3-3 from behind the arc and knocking down free throws. He went 6-6 from the charity stripe. He scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter.
Offenisive MVP: Tai Giger- The top 50 ranked junior scored 19 points including 16 in the final period for Carolina Day tonight. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard was consistently knocking down jump shots and finding his way to the rim.
Defensive MVP: Luke Rutherford- The Carolina Day senior is one of the best defenders in Western North Carolina. He always keeps his man in front of him and is a great on-ball defender. He came up with key steals in the game and helped fuel the comeback by the Wildcats.
Best Rebounder: Justice Ajogbor- The talented freshman corralled down 12 rebounds for Christ School and his length led to Carolina Day having to change their shot selection. He is a player to keep an eye on top for the next few years.
Justice AjogborBest Shooter: Matt Halvorsen- The senior is one of the best shooters in the state and scored on the long ball on three shots in the first half all three-pointers to finish the first half with 9 points.
Best Passer: Rayshaun Brown- The cat-quick Brown has a great ability to find the open man in transition and can is really good at seeing the whole floor.
Best Underclassman: Justice Ajogbor- The 6-foot-9 Ajogbor will be a national recruit in the next year. He has the size, length and skill to develop into a high-major recruit when it is all said and done.
Keys to the Game: Christ School never trailed in this game leading wire to wire.
Moving Forward: Christ School faces Carolinas Athletic Association rival Asheville Christian Academy tonight and national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy Friday night.
