The court was full of talented players that college coaches at the next level should be keeping a close eye on, listed below are those players. Trinity would go on to get the win over Northwood Temple but both squads are ones to a keep a close eye on for possibly competing for a 1A State title. Also attached is a Video recap of this game filmed and edited by Rashad Lanford, go ahead and give him a follow on twitter @HighlightKing_
Northwood Temple 2017 Guard Jeremiah Morris: He doesn’t have much height but he has a ton of heart, he played very well in the first quarter scoring the ball and constantly attacking. On the defensive end he took on the tall task of guarding Trinity Christian leading scorer Josh Nickelberry and did a very good job throughout the night. Is receiving interest from Low Major D1 and High Division 2 colleges.
Trinity Christian 2019 Guard Talton Jones: Talton is known for his defensive abilities and his outstanding passing, but throughout this game he performed very well scoring the ball. He got to the basket with ease and knocked down the midrange shot with consistency.
Trinity Christian 2019 Forward Greg Gantt: Greg had a very efficient night especially in the 2nd half, he knocked down the trey ball at a high rate and battle inside on the boards on both ends. He’s is a versatile player and when he’s locked in, he makes Trinity Christian that much more dangerous.
Trinity Christian 2019 Guard K.J Marshall: KJ is an up-tempo type of guard that looks to pass first, second and third. On a team full of guys that can score the ball, he is definitely what they need, he also defended very well against multiple offensive opponents.
Trinity Christian 2019 Guard Josh Nickelberry: As a leading scorer you can expect to see all types of defensive schemes and that’s exactly what Josh faced on Thursday night. However he found ways to score and draw fouls despite the different ways he was being defended, natural scorers find ways to put the ball in the bucket and that is true for Josh.
Trinity Christian 2019 Wing Joey Baker: Joey had a very good showing as he scored the ball at a high rate in the post when the opportunities presented themselves. He’s normally known for his work on the wing but in this game he had mismatch in the post that they attempted to exploit as much as possible.
Northwood Temple 2017 Guard Michael Hueitt Jr: Michael didn’t have his best shooting night from the field but still knocked down some difficult shots. He also did a good job of drawing contact and getting to the line throughout the night, ODU was in the building to check on their 2017 signee.
Northwood Temple 2018 Manny Bates: Even though he got into foul trouble he still was solid for his team throughout the night, he blocks shots and rebounds at a high rate while playing with a high motor. Although he is still raw offensively you can see why MM and HM schools are intrigued with him.
Northwood Temple 2020 Forward Travon Jackson: Travon is a young prospect that folks need to keep an eye, he has very impressive athleticism and instincts for a player his age. Throughout the night he came up with blocks, steals, rebounds and put backs to help his squad.
