Well that team would be Northwood Temple as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, without one player having a huge scoring night, the Northwood Temple eagles would receive solid contributions from the whole team and would take home the win 66-50.
Best Scorer: Fayetteville Academy Unsigned Senior Guard Jon Gauer- put together a solid scoring performance on the night finishing with 18 Points for his squad. Throughout the game he got to the basket at will and stayed aggressive, also stepped out and knocked down midrange and perimeter shots. Still unsigned but has interest from: Mars Hill, Lees Mcrae, Newberry and Lenoir Rhyne.
Best PG: Northwood Temple 2017 Guard Jeremiah Morris- This young man hasn’t been in the area very long but has been an impact guy for his team and is getting more comfortable as each game passes. He’s a very quick guard that can push the tempo offensively and gets after it on defense with constant pressure.
Best Facilitator: Northwood Temple 2017 Michael Hueitt Jr.- Known as one of the top three point shooters in the country teams always have to keep an eye on this young man, if he gets hot it can be a long night for the defense. However during this game he looked to facilitate more to get teammates going as well as accepting the challenge of guarding the oppositions leading scorer.
Best Shooting Performance: Northwood Temple 2019 Guard Jamael Carter- Jamael came in off the bench and knocked down three trey balls for Northwood, he has deep range on his shot and is a player that can come in and provide a spark for the team.
Best Bigs: Northwood Temple 2018 Manny Bates & Fayetteville Academy 2019 Emmannuel Izunabor- Manny Bates has continued to improve throughout the season, although he is still raw offensively he is constantly working on the defensive end and grabbing rebounds. Izunabor is also raw offensively but is making progress, he blocks shots at a high rate and rebounds the ball very well. Both of these young men are on the radar of quite a few colleges as Bates has already received numerous offers.
