Isaiah Pruett– The 2018 point guard at Reynolds HS is a do-it-all type point guard, he is great in the open floor, he has great court vision, can knock down shots past the 3-point line. What stands out the most is his ability to create off the dribble and his shot-making. Standing 5-foot-9, Pruett plays more like the is 6-foot-3 with his athletic ability, basketball IQ and court sense. He has a natural feel for the game and just knows how to play basketball. Something that cannot be taught and is missing a lot in the game today.
Ben Craig– The steady point guard for Owen HS has been in the high 20’s most games so far in this short season. Now in his junior season, Craig has played meaningful minutes since his freshman season. He was given the starting job as a freshman while the football team was in the state playoffs. He has been around and will be a major reason in how far The Warhorses make it this season after bowing out in the playoffs last season to Lincolnton HS.
Trey Irby– The 6-foot-3 sophomore has been averaging close to 20 points per game at Asheville High School this season. He is a athletic guard who can score and has a good handle. He
Mathew Brown– Brown, a 6-foot-5 forward for Owen High School is off to a strong start this season. He is averaging almost 15 points and 13 rebounds per game. He is getting some Division II and III looks at this point in his recruitment.
Austin Nelson– At 6-foot-5, Nelson can take over a game with his size, scoring ability, and length. He is a do-it-all type player who has a passion for winning. His recruitment is not at the level that it should be coming from a under-recruited area and playing with Team United on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer should help with that. If coaches want a tough, do-it-all winner for their team then I would give Austin Nelson a look. Winthrop was recently in to watch one of his games and he did not disappoint dropping 36 points.
Callin Randolph– The freshman at Mountain Heritage HS has had a monster start to the season. He has put up games of 31 and 32 points early in this year. He has a great ability and understanding of the game. He has great court vision, plays with a sense of urgency when he needs to. He is one of the best prospects in the state for the 2020 class and will be a joy to watch over the next few years in WNC.
CJ Thompson-One of the most prolific scoring guards in WNC is also a all-state wide receiver for the Erwin High School football team. He is averaging around 21 points per game and it the go-to-guy for The Warriors. He has said that he wants to play football in college but I am sure he can walk-on a college basketball team as well.
Jakari Dula– One reason Freedom HS is 15-1? Because of one of WNC’s top sophomores. Jakari Dula averaging 16.5 points,5 assists and 6 rebounds per game.
Josh Searcy- The RS-Central transfer has been leading East Rutherford HS in scoring as of late and is a big reason they are undefeated on the sesason. He recently had 18 points, 14 boards, 6 blocks in a win over SMAC rival Shelby HS.
