The Mid-Week High Five runs you back through the earlier part of the week and honors Jack Sorenson who joins a small group of big school players historically. Top Five Performances
  1. On Tuesday Jack Sorenson surpassed the 2,000 point total for his career giving him 2,008 total. Jack did this against Shakopee facing a box and one but managed to make six of nine shots for 17 points. Sorenson became the 21st big school player ever in Minnesota to surpass 2,000 points. He joins names like Tyus Jones, Khalid El-Amin, Troy Bell, Rick Rickert, Sam Jacobson, and others among those 21.
  2. Walt McGrory scored 38 points and became the all time leading scorer in Edina history this Tuesday. Walt and the Hornets played a great game with Woodbury but lost in overtime.
  3. Michael Jones of Woodbury scored 39 to lead the Royals over Edina. The red hot junior wing continues to field calls from many programs including most recently Northern Iowa.
  4. Isaac Habedank of NCE/U-H scored 27 points with 20 rebounds in a blowout win over Climax-Fisher and 20 and 15 of that came in the first half! Isaac is a 6-foot-3 junior power forward.
  5. The Goanar Mar board grabbing streak of 20 plus ended after three games but hey, 31 points and 14 rebounds is pretty good too! The George Mason forward teamed with Gabe Kalscheur to both score 30 plus in the win over Fridley (Gabe had a career high 30).
Extra. McGregor junior shooting guard Carson Passer knocked out nine three pointers in a win over Carlton recently to score, 49 points in the one point win! Passer is a 20 plus per game junior scorer who made a name for himself scoring 15 a game as a sophomore. Carson, a six foot shooting guard, has a perfect 4.0 grade point average too!   Thursday’s Best Five Games
  1. Champlin Park at Hopkins
  2. Clair at Cleveland
  3. SW MN Christian at Red Rock Central
  4. Cass Lake-Bena at Nevis
  5. BSM at Jefferson
  Top Five Tuesday Impact Wins
  1. Nevis over Red Lake 60-40. Take notice of Nevis now!
  2. Springfield 87 CMC 71. Springfield is top ten and putting teams on notice.
  3. Champlin Park beat Park Center by ten but that was one of the best games given to CP all year.
  4. Totino-Grace back on the winning track knocking off Coon Rapids.
  5. Pine Island beat Goodhue Monday and then Kasson-Mantorville Tuesday. Huge week for them.
  Top Five Surprising Beatdowns
  1. Austin 63 Faribault 39 in a match-up of top ten Class AAA teams
  2. NRHEG 80 Maple River 60. Trohans made a statement.
  3. Annandale over Rockford by 20 in a local battle. Thought the final score would be closer.
  4. Prior Lake over Farmington 79-53 after the Tigers had just took Apple Valley to the wire.
  5. Cloud Tech beat Alexandria 48-32 in a slowed down affair that wasn’t close in the end.
  Tuesday’s Top Five Most Interesting
  1. Cooper over Chanhassen 104-102 and in the same league Jefferson over St. Louis Park 35-33. Well then….
  2. Eastview is now 8-7 after beating Rosemount dropping them to 8-7.
  3. Rushford-Peterson went into St. Charles and improved to 8-5 with a win.
  4. Braham is 9-6 this year after beating Pine City. They are 8-2 in league play which is quite impressive considering they lost their entire line-up from a year ago.
  5. Battle Lake was surging but Perham set them down 62-46. Jenson Beachy is close to becoming the first Perham player EVER to surpass 1,000 points.
  Monday’s Most Interesting
  1. Pine Island knocked Goodhue from the unbeaten ranks in overtime.
  2. Nice win for Eden Valley-Watkins over Annandale 64-54.
  3. Agnes was within 7 of Henry (70-63) on the scoreboard.
  4. Byron 81 Albert Lea 21. As an Austin grad seeing Albert Lea lose is never a problem but now I feel bad. Winless and not very close. When 1-win Century beats you by 21…..
  5. Key Duluth Area win for Lakeview Christian beating Two Harbors 50-49
