Continue ReadingThe McDonald’s All-American game rosters was announced over the weekend. For the first time since 2008, no player from North Carolina was selected to the game. That’s quite a run for the hoop state, this year’s class was loaded what division one prospects but no one player really stood out in the national rankings. North Carolina’s highest ranked player, Lavar Batts Jr of JM Robinson High School was nominated but not selected. The other highest ranked recruit, Blake Harris of Word of God in Raleigh was not nominated because he is a fifth year senior.
End of an Era
Each of the past eight season, North Carolina had at least one homegrown player selected to the prestigious event. Several of those selections have enjoyed great college careers and have had lengthy professional careers.

2013-Isaiah Hicks (Webb), Kennedy Meeks (West Charlotte)
2014- Theo Pinson (Wesleyan Christian)
2015- Brandon Ingram (Kinston)
2016-Bam Adebayo (High Point Christian)
