Jack Nolan Wins Player of Week
It was an unbelievable week in hoops. We expanded the Player of the Week nominees from five to 12 that PrepHoopsIllinois saw in person. After three days of fan voting Benet 2017 point guard Jack Nolan took home the award garnering 50% of the vote. He held off a late run by East St. Louis small forward Terrence Hargrove finishing with 30%.
Nolan more than deserved the honor leading his Benet squad to the championship game at Pontiac and was great in front of us in the quarterfinals against undefeated Bloomington. He ran the show, got others involved, and hit clutch shots. Nolan scored 30 points, but it was his key shots that were the reason it was such a special performance. He had a four point play on a made three that he was fouled from well beyond the line to send the game to OT. In overtime he went on to hit the game winner on a runner in the lane. Priority D3/NAIA recruit that is going to be very coveted by programs at that level because of his ability to shoot it and winning mentality.
