By putting winning first, Corbett has at times taken a back seat statistically during his 4-year run of meaningful varsity minutes by making personal sacrifices to allow the team to maximize it’s potential. A player who scores around 20ppg and also fills the stat sheet to the point that his double-doubles could come from rebounds, assists, or even steals at times. Danny has soaked up as much information as possible from his Head Coach and former point guard legend at Briggs as well, Tony Rice. Ironically Rice was a 6’5″ big PG who’s most notable asset was his outside shot, which is Corbett’s only weakness being considered average in this area by most. This Jason Kidd clone is a young man who looks as if he could help a scholarship school win some games. We asked Mr. Corbett a few questions in order to let the world get a more personal view of the person and player:
1. What were your personal and team goals for this year?
a.) My personal goal is to average a triple-double. As a team we want to win the City league first and go from there.
2. What has your college recruitment been like so far?
a.) My recruitment hasn’t been what I expected and wanted it to be in all honesty.
3. What are your short and long term goals in basketball?
a.) My immediate goal is improving my team every day. Longer term is getting a scholarship.
4. What is the best thing about your game and what is the area that needs the most work?
a.) My best attributes are my basketball IQ or my defense. My jump shot is the area that needs the most work.
5. Why do you play the game of basketball?
a.) I love this game. Simple as that.
