#4 Oak Hill (8-2, 5-0) at Fairfield (6-2, 2-2) Tuesday, 7:30pm: Big time game in the Greater Metro Conference with Fairfield trying to prove they belong in the conversation as one of the better teams in the city. Senior F Ben Phillips is averaging 13 points and 9 rebounds over the last three ball games for the Indians. Oak Hills G Luke Rudy is quietly having a very good season averaging 14 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Prediction: Oak Hills
Loveland (7-3, 4-1) at Walnut Hills (5-4, 4-1) Tuesday, 7:30pm: Another big conference matchup (sense the theme here), this time in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. With a three way tie atop the conference between these two teams along with Kings, this matchup will go a long way in determining the conference champion. Walnut Hills junior Kameron Gibson has been playing much better of late averaging 14 points over the last three ball games. Loveland must be able to handle the environment at the Nut House and limit turnovers if they want to walk away with the victory.
Prediction: Walnut Hills
#2 La Salle (8-1, 1-0) at #1 Moeller (11-0, 0-0) Friday, 7:30pm: This is a match-up that has Game of the Year buzz and capabilities. Unfortunately for La Salle they will be playing without their best player, Bellarmine commit CJ Fleming. Fleming will be out at least another 2 weeks with a shoulder injury. With that being said the Lancers are still one of the best defensive teams in the city allowing 39 points per game. A win over La Salle would give Moeller sole possession of first place and a leg-up in the conference championship race. Expect a high-intensity defensive struggle in this one.
Prediction: Moeller
Shroder (6-3, 2-2) at #8 Hughes (8-3, 4-0) Friday, 7:30pm: A match-up of two teams going in the opposite. Since their 4-0 start, Shroder has gone 2-3 including a 32 point loss to conference rival Taft. Hughes Big Red on the other hand has been one of the hottest teams in the city since there last loss to St. Xavier on December 10th. Since that loss Big Red has won 6 in a row including claiming the championship at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Basketball Blowout in Florida. The Jaguars must win this game if they want to have a chance at the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference title.
Prediction: Hughes
