Tyler Maye– One of the best prospects in North Carolina that is still off the board, Maye is a scorer. Knows how to score and knows how to win. He led Farmville Central to a NCHSAA 2-A state title last season. Maye is a true leader on the floor, loves getting others involved in the offense, has a high basketball IQ. He can score in such a variety of ways it makes it difficult on defenses to pick a way to guard him. Lay off and he will knock down the jumper. Play to close and he will drive by you and get in the lane. Has very quick hands on defense that causes problems.
Quay Kimble- Shelby High School is always one of the best programs in North Carolina year in and year out. 2014 star Gabe DeVoe is now averaging around 12 points per game at Clemson University. Next in line is Kimble. Kimble is a lot like Maye with how he can take over a game with his scoring ability. Longtime head coach Aubrey Hollifield says “Quay is the best scorer other than DeVoe that I have coached here at Shelby. If he was the height of Gabe, he would be getting offers from all over the board.” He is a 1,000 career point scorer through his first 3 years at Shelby HS and has a career average of 41% from the 3-point line.”
Jalen SpicerJalen Spicer– The tough as nails point guard surpassed the 1,000 career point mark tonight. What’s more impressive? He also surpassed 500 assists for his career. He knows how to score and can distribute the basketball. He might not put up huge numbers every night, but Spicer gets the ball to the right person and knows how to win.
Cam Hamilton– The best senior point guard in Charlotte has been having a great senior season. He has had two games of 39 points and is averaging 21.8 points per game while leading Vance High School to a 16-2 overall record.
