The Basketball Interview: Elijah Joiner
In our series The Basketball Interview we talk with one of the top players in the state of Illinois about a variety of topics both on and off the court. Today’s interview is with Curie 2017 shooting guard and Tulsa commit Elijah Joiner.
What is your favorite opposing gym to play in?
Kenwood. It is a small gym, but they bring out a big crowd every time we play them.
Who is the best player you have played against?
Malik Newman because he could shoot it as soon as he came across half court.
Who is your favorite player to play against?
Probably Evan Gilyard. He beat me all the way up until last year.
Which is your favorite social media?
Twitter. It is interesting. A lot of the players get on there and you can see a lot of interesting things.
What was your favorite part of the recruiting process?
Building the relationships.
What was your least favorite part of the recruiting process?
The constant calling all times of the day. It was real frustrating.
High School or Grassroots Circuit?
High school because there is more defense and it is competitive.
Who is your favorite NBA Player?
Derrick Rose. I liked him since he was a senior at Simeon. I have always looked up to him.
What team not on your schedule would you want to play?
Morgan Park because I never got to play against them.
