And though right now he’s focused on his senior campaign, and trying to help his Blazers improve during the second part of the season, the 6-foot-1 standout did mention it’s his dream to play hoops at the next level.
“I’ve had a little bit of some initial interest from a few schools, and so I’m still keeping my options open. But I’m mostly focusing on this season and taking it one game at a time,” said Dueker.
“It’s mostly Division III and NAIA interest. We visited Northwestern College and I’ve had a little interest from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.”
Dueker added: “I’ve loved playing ever since I was a little kid, and have always dreamed of playing at the next level — so wherever I could play that would be awesome.”
A do-it-all floor general, Dueker has posted some eye-opening numbers this season, to the tune of 23.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
“My best strengths are definitely my shooting, and I can get to the hole and get fouled and I’m a great free-throw shooter,” said Dueker. “I’ve worked a lot on my ball-handling and play-making, coming into this year that wasn’t what I was best at, and I’ve worked hard on it and definitely gotten better.”
What’s especially astonishing is the 9.4 rebounds per game from the guard spot.
“It’s something I wasn’t great at in the past, and I was told that I need to step up my game there and it would be great for the team if I could do that,” said Dueker. “So that’s something I’ve been actively trying to do, is just attack the boards on offense and defense.”
