Utah County- Featuring one of the top prospects in any class or position in the state, Isaac Johnson is a potential 4 or 5 star recruit. The 3 position is underrated in the valley, but will still have their fair share of talent and college prospects. Below are the 5 best small forward prospects in Utah County by Prephoops.com.
1. Isaac Johnson (American Fork) At 6’10 with guard skills, Johnson may be the very best prospect in the state. He is still learning to use his great frame and should begin gaining more muscle as he matures. He is a big time prospect for the Cavemen and is getting better everyday. Isaac is looking to follow in the footsteps of other great D1 players out of American fork, and could be considered a top 30 recruit in the county by his senior year. Isaac plays for Exum Elite and is a high level D1 prospect.
2. Chase Berry (Skyridge) The 6’6 senior forward is showing his versatility for the Falcons this year. He is averaging 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. He is a game changer with his speed and strength in the open floor. Chase is always looking to shoot passing lanes and take it the other way for a thunderous dunk. Chase plays for Utah Basketball Club and is a low D1 to hight D2 prospect.
3. Kenau Akina (Pleasant Grove) The 6’4 senior is currently the second leading scorer and rebounder for a talented Pleasant Grove team. Relatively unknown coming into this season, Kenau has had a great start to the season for the top 5 ranked Vikings. The Vikings are looking to make another strong run at a Region 4 title, and also a deep run in March at the state tournament. Kenau is a D2 to JUCO prospect.
4. Ben Schreiner (Springville) A physical wing player on a really good Sprivgville team, Ben is one of the key players that keeps the Red Devils climbing state rankings. Springville is picked to win Region 8 by Prephoops.com, and Ben is a huge reason why. He is the loan junior starter and third on the team in scoring. Ben is a D2 to NAIA player.
5. Isaac Lungren (Westlake) The 6’4 senior is a first year starter for the Thunder, but is leading them in scoring at over 15 PPG. Lungren is a strong shooter from the outside, hitting over 2 3’s a game. He is going to have to keep this pace up and get big help from his supporting cast if they want to finish top 4 in Region 4, arguably the best league in the state. Isaac is a D2 to NAIA or JUCO prospect.
