No. 19 Dante Eldridge (Iowa City West)
To Iowa via Boston, this 5’9 point guard is the son of former UNG-Greensboro guard Courtney Eldridge, who played under Iowa coach Fran McCaffery when he was coaching the Spartans. Dante hasn’t been in Iowa long, but has already made a big splash, and has earned a top-20 spot because of it. A lighting quick guard with a high basketball IQ who can shoot it, Eldridge is another in a very talented class of guards.
No. 58 Ben Breeding (Ankeny Centennial)
This 6’5 post is the only sophomore on Ankeny Centennnial’s roster, and it looks as though he’ll be a regular contributor with the Jags this winter. He’s big, tough and most importantly he has a high motor. There will be plenty of blocks and rebounds to be had over the next three seasons for Breeding.
No. 69 Logan Burg (Cedar Rapids Prairie)
A sturdy 6-foot guard, Burg was a standout during our Top 250 Expo earlier in the fall, particularly in the skills segment. He’s not only skilled on the hardwood, but on the diamond too.
No. 70 Gatdoar Bijiek (Des Moines North)
The younger brother of 2017 standout Jal Bijiek, Gatdoar has made great strides with his skill-set in the past 12 months. He’s more of a guard whereas Jal is more of a wing, and Gatdoar has a sharpshooting ability that pairs with some savvy ball-handling. The ceiling is high for this 6’2 guard.
No. 71 Kris Murray (Cedar Rapids Prairie)
One half of a twin tandem that will star with the Hawks for the next three seasons, Kris was sensational at our 250 Expo and is off to a sizzling start to his sophomore year. The precision shooter knocked in four 3s and scored 12 points off the bench in his team’s season-opener on Tuesday night.
No. 74 Keegan Murray (Cedar Rapids Prairie)
The other half of the twin duo, Keegan, like his brother Kris, has an innate ability to see the floor and shoots the ball very well. The 6’1 guard is long and has plenty of room to grow. His dad Kenyon Murray played at Iowa in the 1990s.
No. 75 Jordan Jackson (Fort Dodge)
A bouncy and athletic forward, Jackson has some decent height (6’3) and great length to pair. He’s an active and aggressive rebounder, and will only continue to become more valuable as his skill-set catches up with his intangibles.
No. 76 Sam Glenn (Grand View Christian)
Another younger brother of a 2017 standout, Sam is the wiry 6’3 sibling of Grand View Christian guard Stephen Glenn. Sam beings more height to the table, and is just as lengthy as his older brother. This season his body should continue to develop, and he’ll get some experience playing varsity ball. Sam could blossom into a star very soon.
