1. Panguitch (7-0)
6’5 So. Jace Eyre is still averaging 20 ppg. and 6’2 Jr. Trey Barney is averaging 18 ppg. The Bobcats have have a weak schedule as they do not play anyone that will likely chanllenege them. The Bobcats at this point can only beat themselves. Previously 1
2. Piute (4-2)
5’11 Jr. Ryan Westwood is leading the Thunderbird’s in scoring. We can only hope that their January 11th matchup with Panguitch is worth the wait. 5’9 G Mason Morgan is also scoring in double figuers. Previously 3
3. Merit Academy (4-2)
The Knights have surprised soem teams this year as they have proved to their opponents that they can play with anyone. They have already beaten a middle of the pack 2A team and will continue to play good 2A teams next week before they start region play. They are led by 5’11 Dillon Spencer who is averaging 19 ppg. and 6’1 Jr. G Alessandro Guzzon and his 17 ppg. Previously UR
4.Bryce Valley (5-2)
Mustangs didn’t fair well against Panguitch in their first meeting but still remain a quality team. They play Piute Saturday and this could be a great game to boost their confidence going forward. 5’11 So. G Austyn Brinkerhoff is averaging 21 ppg. this year. Previously 4
5.Valley (2-0)
The Buffaloes have had two quality wins but they also have two questionable loses. Valley is led by Cobe Reck and Garrett Spencer who seem to be caring most of the load. Previously 5
1A has six players scoring 19 or more points per game but that will all mean nothing if teams don’t game plan a way to stop Panguitch. Region 20 is loaded and teams will likely cannibalize each other which could open the door for a team like Merit Academy to step in and surprise someone.
