The uber athletic Beane has really taken it up a notch this season as a dominant perimeter defender. He is cat quick moving laterally and staying in front of his man. Recovers well when he does slightly get beat. Offensively Beane is more aggressive than we had seen in the past looking for his shot. Plus mid-range jump shooter. Beane has a picture perfect jumper with elevation off the floor. The junior is a plus passer for an off guard. Makes sound decisions with the rock including slick passes in the lane. D1 prospect in the 2018 class.
Beane spoke about the beginning of his junior campaign.
“The season started off kind of slow. We played two of the best teams in the state for 4A, but it helped us get better. We have continued to work and get better.”
He and fellow 2018 Kani Acree have always been the most talented guys, but now they have to take on a leadership role as well.
“We are teaching the young guys trying to get better. We have an inexperienced team, but I think we have a chance to be good this year. Me and Kani are trying to lead.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Recruiting I am still getting interest. It is going well. A lot of the same schools. I am hearing from SMU, Illinois, Ohio State, Indiana, and of course SIU. I was supposed to visit Vanderbilt, but I didn’t end up making it.”
