A 5’10 2017 point guard, Pleasant is a high-level playmaker at both ends of the floor who has high hopes for the upcoming season.
“We are a force to be reckon with, we want to win state and have an undefeated season,” he said.
Pleasant said Vashon was the team he was looking forward to playing the most at the start of the season, and now has a game against Iowa City West circled on his schedule.
“Now that we have knocked them off our list we look forward to facing the No. 20 team in the nation Iowa City West, we want to beat teams that no one would think we’d have a chance against,” he said.
Pleasant spent the offseason competing for KC Run GMC and focused on getting stronger, developing a faster first step, explosiveness and finishing plays.
Pleasant has had some interests from Division II schools like Washburn, Ottawa, Queens of Charlotte, Lyon College, and a couple of other small schools. He has taken a visit to University of Central Missouri and Ottawa University.
Pleasant says his parents have been the biggest influence on his game and have been, “A huge support cast throughout my career.”
He says he enjoys watching Stephen Curry and is a player that he can relate to.
“I enjoy watching Stephen Curry the most because at first he was considered an underdog that people looked over throughout his career up until now and it is something I can relate because I consider myself an underdog that wants to prove something,” he said.
