No recruitment has come in just yet for the talented sophomore, and it’s something that he’s well-aware of.
“I’m waiting on that and I’m wishing on that, hopefully this year,” said Foley. “That’s my main goal, I want to get to college, that’s my focus.”
After a very good freshman season with the Rebels, Foley says he’s hoping to see improvements this season.
“I hope my sophomore season goes just as good or better than my freshman season, so that’s what I’m hoping for,” he said. “Just improving my game and trusting my coaches and my teammates and hopefully everything will happen.”
With the ability to knock down a deep ball or get to the rim and finish, Foley is a versatile threat offensively. And he takes pride in his D too.
“My strength is driving to the hole and playing strong. I attack the hole really good and really strong, and I also shoot the 3-ball really well. But my main strengths are attacking the hole and good defense,” said Foley.
“I want to develop more as a point guard; my ball-handling skills and just seeing the court and my teammates better.”
Foley started last season on a Rebels team that finished runner-up at the state tournament. This season he says his leadership role has expanded greatly.
“It’s going to be way different this season. I started as a freshman, but this year we lost two of our best players which went to college to play Division I ball. So we’re young now and I’m one of the leaders of the team,” he said.
“And getting back to state and winning is the goal. We want to get that bitter taste out of our mouth and avenge our loss from last season.”
