This season’s he’s back with the Hurricanes and off to a nice start as a starting forward.
No college interest has come for Knight up to this point of his career – it’s something he’s noticed.
“I care deeply about my recruitment,” said Knight. “That’s something that I’ve been thinking about since my freshman year when I was out.”
He did not play last season after suffering a torn ACL, but will have a significant role with Higgins this winter.
“I’ll have a big role,” he said. “I’m the leading scorer as of right now, and I’m leading in steals, so I’m a very big part of this team.”
A versatile threat, able to be effective in the paint or score from the perimeter, Knight defined his playing style in his own words to PHLA.
“My strengths are that I’m a slasher, and I can rebound. I’m versatile, I can play guard or down low, and I play very good defense. My jump shot is still weak, and I’m working on that,” said Knight.
“I’m most comfortable on the wing because I really can get to the hole. I’m taller than most of the guards I play against so I have an advantage there.”
As his sophomore season continues to wear on, Knight is hoping he can maintain as his team’s top scorer.
“My goals are to make it to the playoffs at least,” he said. “And continue to play well and be the leading scorer on the team.”
