PrepHoopsNC: How’s the season going so far? Record, averages….
Christian Bailey far rightChristian Bailey: Season great right now we’re 8-1 and we’re getting better each day because our new head coach JD Johnson from HPCA (High Point Christian Academy). I’m averaging 20 and 9 boards with about 2-3 ast, and 2 blocks.
PrepHoopsNC: What game has been the toughest so far and which other players in your conference do you think can play?
Christian Bailey: The toughest team we have played so far is United Faith from Charlotte who’s like top in the state right now, and right now we have a whole lot of talent in our conference since we’re in the SPAA, so like United Faith’s whole team is a bucket and there starting 5 is no doubt going D1 and then we have Carmel Christian too who has Myles Pierre and just picked up Donovan Gregory.
PrepHoopsNC: What schools have you been hearing from?
Christian Bailey: I haven’t had that many schools look at me because I was going to go on visits after the season but I have interest from Appalachian State and Hampton University .
PrepHoopsNC: What do you feel that you have improved on since last season and his summer?
Christian Bailey: I honestly feel like my ball handling has improved a lot, my shot and my range, and my driving and footwork has improved also my IQ.
PrepHoopsNC: What are the parts of your game that set you apart from other players.
Christian Bailey: What’s sets me apart from everybody else honestly is my work ethic, because I’m willing to work harder than anybody else in order to make my dream come true and to win each game and I take every rep seriously because each rep can only make you better, and my coach always tells us every rep matters and as long as we buy in to what he says and trust the process, we will be a state contender.
