Springer has had a great start to season including a standout performance at The Charlotte Hoops Challenge. He had a triple double in a win against Ardrey Kell High School as he had 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
The post-July number one ranked player was Jalen Cone out of Walkertown High School. The 5-foot-9 point guard went down over the fall with a broken wrist but came back in the season opener and had 28 points and 9 assists in a win.
The third spot goes to Carson McCorkle of Broughton High School. McCorkle already has offers from Iowa State and NC State.
The fourth position is a player with tremendous upside, Justice Ajogbor is in his first season of playing basketball in the United States and is 6-foot-9 with a athletic frame and great length.
Son of former NBA player Vernon “Mad Max” Maxwell is ranked as the 5th best freshman in the state, Tristan Maxwell is a 5-foot-10 guard at North Mecklenburg High School and has been putting up solid numbers so far this season.
Word of God Academy in Raleigh is known for top-level guards and at number six Evan Johnson is on his way to being the next one out of the same school that produced NBA All-Star John Wall.
Up in the mountains of North Carolina is Mountain Heritage High School where freshman Callin Randolph is one of the top freshman in the state. Randolph started the season with 31 points in a win over Tuscola High School.
Defending state champion Providence Day boasts the number eight recruit who is also Randolph’s summer travel teammate, Luke Stankavage is a long scoring guard who has put up 21 points in The Charlotte Hoops Challenge.
