Player Of The Week: Matt Carik
Racking up thousands of votes, Matt Carik won our Player Of The Week award over several very qualified candidates with 31 points (6/8 on 3s and 9/10 from FT line) in a 83-65 win at Anoka.
After speaking with him, we confirmed what we had thought: he’s feeling very comfortable with his jumper.
“I’m feeling more confident than ever with my shot, it also helps my teammates are unselfish and getting me the ball in positions to score,” he told NHR. “But I’m feeling real good with my shot.”
Carik worked with Comets DLR this summer and boosted his ability to score. A recruiting report will be coming on him soon — stay tuned.
“I worked a lot during AAU and really focused on my outside shot,” he added. “I was in the gym as much as possible trying to get better.”
Congrats to Matt. His next game is tonight as Rogers hosts Maple Grove at 7:15 PM.
