Juwuan Blanton– The 6’0 senior guard from East Rutherford again, was limited on minutes due to the blow out of Union Co. Blanton dropped 11 points, took 3 steals, and got to the line with ease making 3 appearances to the charity stripe. The calm, smart, savvy, explosive, and elusive guard had the Union Co. defense looking silly. He looks to lead his team back to the state playoffs. Tyrese Carson– The 6’0 senior guard was the first man off the bench for the East Rutherford Cavaliers. That may not last much longer though, as he was flying around all over the court on his way to 8 points, 3 very flashy and impressive assists, and 3 steals. Keaton Griffin– The Senior forward from Fort Mill was awarded the Lowe’s player of the game in the showoff against Brookland-Cayce. He led his team to overcome a 16 point deficit in the second half, as he was in foul trouble early in the game. The scrappy, emotional and strong forward pitched in 15 points and 5 rebounds, 13 of the points were in the second half. Malik Hamrick– The Senior 6’1 guard played phenomenal in the showdown with Union Co. given the amount of minutes he was provided. He put up 11 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Hamrick showed ability to finish through contact and an innate ability to hit from deep. Smart player, knows the game. Lloyd Hemming– The 6’5 Guard from Brookland-Cayce, carried much of the scoring load for the bearcats, he dropped 24 points, and showed a consistent ability to get to the line and knock down his free throws. His wingspan gives him a huge advantage in scoring the ball in and out. Demarcus Leamon– The long, and tall Jr F/G from Berea used his outside shooting to help his team toward their hard fought out game against Summerville. Leamon has insane jumping abilities and finished with a couple of nice dunks. Devin Smith– The 5’10 guard from Summerville opened people’s eyes to his talent with his performance against Berea that was a serendipity. He dropped 21 points 15 from behind the 3 point line, some much behind the line. He also handed out 4 assists two coming from alley oop dunks to his teammate Shaq Davis. Newa Hashim– The junior guard from Berea high school had the game high with 24 points, he got these from a variety of ways, transition layups, 3 pointers, and from the line. Plays with a smooth style about him. Shaquan Davis– The 6’5 Junior from Summerville is a monster. Anytime the ball touches his hands there’s a chance for a SC top 10 dunk, Berea high school can tell you all about it as he dunked against them 5 times in their matchup. He totaled 20 points and 10 rebounds. He has incredible defensive timing as he collected 4 monstrous block. D1 bound for sure. Raymond Williams– The star junior guard from Berea high school played out of his mind on his way to leading his team to victory, providing 20 points 5 assists and three steals. He can score from anywhere and get by anyone. He put in 12 points from behind the arc.
