As a result, we will be taking next week off from updating the Top 25, so that we can let the dust settle from the tournaments and see who is on top at the end. Once again, if you disagree with any of these rankings, or think we are forgetting someone, let me know I’m an idiot on twitter, either at @PrepHoopsLA or @ChanceLeMaire

- Lafayette High (11-2)
Despite dropping a game that they should have won against Patterson, the Lions continue to move up the polls. Next week is going to be big for them, because as of right now, they are the favorites to win the St. Martinville tournament, against a number of quality teams.
- St. Michael (11-1)
The wins keep piling up for the Warriors, as they have now won 11 straight and have only lost to U-High this season. I’d like to see a signature win for them before they move up any higher, as their only win against a Top 25 team so far is against a Comeaux squad that wasn’t at full health.
- LCA (8-2)
For the first time in nearly four years, the Knights dropped a game at home, against a not great Abbeville team that they should have been 20 points better than. That simply isn’t good enough for a team with that much talent. However, since the rankings have come out, LCA has beaten a Top 25 team in the nation, in Westlake (GA). Expect them to move up in the next rankings as a result.
- Riverside (6-2)
Riverside lost their second game of the season, this time to Mitchell Robinson and Chalmette, in the championship game of Chalmette’s tournament. This has caused the Rebel’s to drop out of the top 5 for the first time this season. However, that can all be remedied by coming out on top in the Sunkist Shootout, at St. Thomas More next week, which features three teams featured in this top 10 list.
- De la Salle (10-1)
De la Salle continues an incredibly impressive start to this season, as they have only lost a single game, against St. Augustine in the championship game of the Newman tournament. Next week will be big for them as well, as they will also be at the Sunkist.
- St. Augustine (13-1)
St. Aug is still only at one loss this year, but at full strength, the Purple Knights are undefeated, as the loss came before football players were back, to a 2A Sophie B. Wright team. As of right now, they are the favorites for the Sunkist Shootout next week.
- Natchitoches Central (12-1)
The Chiefs lost their first game of the season last week, going down against an immensely talented and well coached Washington Marion team. The next game they beat a very good Peabody team, and haven’t lost again since.
- Madison Prep (9-1)
After dropping a game to Scotlandville, Madison Prep is back on track, and since that loss, is beating teams by an average of 17 PPG. They took down their biggest state champion threat, in Rayville, by 17 points in the championship game of the tournament they hosted. If they lose to another in state team this season, it will be considered a huge upset.
- U-High (12-0)
And then there were three. U-High is one of the three remaining undefeated teams in the state, and has some quality wins thrown in there. They will be traveling to Tennessee over Christmas, to compete in the Next Level Hoops Fest, taking on some incredibly talented teams from across the south.
- Scotlandville (9-0)
Are you kidding me?? Last week, the Hornets had one of the toughest three game stretches that you are going to see all year, taking on Madison Prep, Landry-Walker, and Riverside all within a 7 day window. Scotlandville won all three by an average of over 10 points per game. They will be traveling to the Atlanta area over Christmas to participate in the “Tournament of Champions” taking on top teams from across the country. Let’s see if they have better luck than teams from Louisiana have had this year.
