Today we take a lot at some of the top uncommitted or unsigned senior small forwards (wings) in the Kansas City area. These are players from both sides of the border. There are a handful of players we have not seen in person that are not included in this list, and a few others that we feel might play another position at the next level.
This list will be updated later in the season as new names emerge.
1. Angelo Allegri, 6’6, 2017, St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.)
Allegri is long, athletic and versatile forward capable of playing inside and out. He’s a tough rebounder, can defend multiple positions and is capable of playing more on the perimeter than he shows on most nights in the high school game where his team needs him inside.
2. Will McKee, 6’6, 2017, St. James (Kan.)
McKee is athletic player that brings a high motor and a versatile skill set to the floor. He can play above the rim and is very good running the floor and finishing in transition.
3. Sterling Hicks, 6’4, 2017, St. Joseph Lafayette (Mo.)
Hicks is at his best attacking the basket in the paint, but is a versatile offensive player with some size that can do a little bit of everything.
4. Evan Morrison, 6’6, 2017, Kansas City East (Kan.)
Morrison is coming off a strong summer playing with the Kansas City Pacers and brings size and toughness to a wing position. He is capable of stepping out and knocking down perimeter shots, but is at his best mixing it up at both ends of the floor.
5. Saxton Thurston, 6’3, 2017, St. Joe Benton (Mo.)
Thurston is another Kansas City Pacer who brings versatility and toughness to the court. He will be an undersized player at the next level but works hard and competes.
