Grant DeMeulenaere (Grand View Christian)
No better week has been had by an Iowan in a very long time. Highlighted by a herculean 46 point, 6 assist, 6 steal effort on Friday night, DeMeulenaere averaged 32 points (71% FGs), 8 assists and 6.3 steals per game in three huge Thunder wins.
Jake Hilmer (North Linn)
Always a threat to put up huge numbers, this sensational sophomore was especially good last week for the Lynx. In two wins the Iowa Barnstormer product averaged 23.5 points per game on 21-28 shooting (4-8 3s). In addition to the efficient scoring, his dished out 10.5 assists and 4.5 steals per game.
Ben Juhl (Des Moines Christian)
One of the most skilled shooters in the state, Juhl is a kid who could end up with a 50-40-90 season at Des Moines Christian. In three Lions wins last week he connected on 60 percent of his field goals en route to 22.3 points per game. He was also stellar defensively, swiping 3 steals per game.
Ethan Wyant (Jesup)
His J-Hawks did lose their first game of the season last week, but Wyant continued his torrid season despite the setback. In two games the lengthy 6-foot guard went for 26 points per game (56 FG%), 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
Drew Wilken (Ankeny Christian Academy)
We didn’t know a lot about this kid coming into the season, hut he certainly has our attention now. His Eagles are undefeated this season, and won twice last week behind some very strong efforts from the junior point guard. Wilken averaged 29.5 points and 2 steals per game in the wins. And perhaps most impressive: he shot 70 percent from the floor
