McCauley continues to put up huge numbers throughout the season. His lowest scoring game is 25 points and he’s shooting the ball at a 60 percent clip. The 6’5 guard is going to continue to slash through opposing defenses because you can’t really match up with him.
2 Cooper Neese (2017, Cloverdale) 30.4 *Butler
The only guy in the state that can keep up with McCauley is the best pure shooter in the state. Neese can shoot lights out when he doesn’t get in a rush and force shots up. He can score at all three levels really well and needs to score for his team to win. Already has a 53 point game this year.
3 Nathan Walpole (2017, Whitko) 28.4
Walpole is having an excellent year thus far. He scored 46 points in one game and is putting up points for the small school. He had a few games that he didn’t shoot well but in half of the games this season he has scored more than 30 points.
4 Hayden Langkabel (2018, Morristown) 26.8
The highest scoring junior in the state is number four on this list. The most impressive thing is that he takes good shots; he only has 3/9 games with 20 or more shot attempts. He is scoring the ball efficiently and should take the crown next year with his effective scoring.
5 Musa Jallow (2018, Bloomington North) 26.1
Jallow is also a junior and scoring about the same against tougher competition than the three guys in front of him. The 6’5 wing gets to the line often and makes his free throws at a decent clip. The junior should keep his scoring up as it comes as no surprise to us.
