What are some strengths you have in your game that make you the player that you are?
“I’m a well rounded player for the most part. I try to drive to the basket and I like finding my teammates for open shots. Also my length as a defender is another strength of mine.”
What are some of your weaknesses that you would like to work on?
“Outside shooting. I would like to be a more consistent three point shooter.”
Who is the toughest player you can recall playing against in Utah High School basketball?
“Max Watson from Box Elder. He can score in so many ways which makes him hard to guard. He’s also a good defender.”
What team on your schedule do you want to beat the most and why?
“Fremont. It’s our biggest rival. They are really close to our school so everyone knows each other.”
What team that isn’t on your schedule in Utah do you want to play the most and why?
“Bingham. They have a lot of talent and I would like to see where I stand against those type of players.”
How do you see your team doing this year?
“In Region 1 I believe we can win the the region. I think worst case we can take 2nd place. Our team is so well rounded I think were going to have a good year.”
Who is your favorite NBA player and why?
“Russell Westbrook. I like how hard he plays and how explosive he is. He’s a fun player to watch.”
What is your favorite moment in your high school career?
“Last year versus Fremont, we were down by 11 and I hit the game winning shot.”
Who has the best home crowd in the state other than your own?
“Layton has a great crowd and they are very loud. That was a fun game to play in.”
What is your favorite off the court activity and why?
“I enjoy playing Xbox with my friends.”
What do you want to major in for college?
“I’m undecided right now.”
What is your plan for after high school?
“I’m planning on going on a LDS mission then I’ll try to play college somewhere when I get back.”
Prep Hoops evaluation
Alex is solid at almost everything but isn’t great at one particular skill. He has a wiry frame which makes him a good defender. He needs to continue to work on his outside shooting if he wants to take his game to another level. Alex has high academics so he will appeal to many small four year colleges at the NAIA and D3 level.
