4A Team Rankings
- Woods Cross (7-0) The Wildcats are lead by one of the best shooters in the country Trevin Knell. He’s averaging over 28 points per game and has proven unstoppable. Trevor Trost has also been solid with his 12 point per game average. The Wildcats have two more games in the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas. Today they play Godby High school (FL).
- Corner Canyon (5-1) The chargers got a huge 10 point win over previously #1 Olympus in the Utah Elite 8 Tournament. Michael Scheffner is averaging over 23 points per game and Zach Wilson is averaging over 17 points per game. The Chargers play Murray this week which should be an easy game.
- Timpview (5-2) The Thunderbirds have played a brutal schedule thus far. Their two losses are to national power Wasatch Academy and Colorado power George Washington. Hunter Erickson has been burning up the nets with his 26 point per game average. Junior Adam Santiago has also been playing well with his 18 point per game average. Timpview has two more games in the Tarkanian Classic and play Eaglecrest (CO) today.
- Olympus (4-2) The Titans have been humbled with losses to Copper Hills and Corner Canyon in the Utah Elite 8 Tournament. The Titans have four players averaging in double figures including Rylan Jones, Matt Lindsey, Jeremy Dowdell, and Travis Wagstaff. Olympus plays a decent Highland team this week.
- Hillcrest (6-1) The Huskies have been the surprise team in the state of Utah. Last week they beat Highland by 26 points. Hillcrest have four players averaging over 9 points per game with Troy Briner, Stockton Ashby, Bassel Tekarli, and John Villanueva. The Huskies have a game versus winless Hunter this week.
- Springville (5-3) Had a heartbreaking loss versus 5A powerhouse Pleasant Grove in overtime. Josh Elison is averaging close to 16 points per game and is a deadly shooter. Andrew Slack and Ben Schreiner are the other two double digit scorers. The Red devils play Syracuse this week which is their last game in 2016.
- Skyridge (6-3) The Falcons picked up three wins over California teams in the “Clash of The Coast Tournament”. Marcus Draney has had a great preseason and is averaging over 18 points per game. Chase Berry and Braydon Cuff are their other two double digit scorers. Skyridge is done for the year with games until region play beings in early January.
- Orem (2-2) The Tigers two losses are versus Utah Powerhouse Lone Peak and a very good team out of Virginia in Wakefield Prep. Junior Guard Ross Reeves has lead Orem with 18 point per game average and has been deadly from behind the three point line. Sophomore Puka Nacua has also been solid with his 13 point per game average. Orem will head off to Maui to play four games in a national tournament.
- Highland (6-2) The Rams were humbled last Friday in a 26 point loss at #5 ranked Hillcrest. It’s to early to tell how good Highland will be in Region 5 play. The Rams are lead by junior guard Elijah Shelton and is 13 point per game average. They will be tested this week with a game at #4 ranked Olympus.
- Kearns (4-3) The Cougars split last week with a loss at #6 ranked Springville then picked up a convincing win versus Grantsville. Kearns is led by explosive guard Eshaya Wada and his 16 point per game average. Nick Valles has also played well with his 14 point per game average. Kearns is off this week and will resume when they play four games in the Riverton Holiday Tournament.
