Going into his sophomore season at King’s Mountain High School just outside of Charlotte, the 6-foot-2 guard had this to say about his upcoming season, “My goals this season is the goals every leader of the team would want for his team and that is to win a state championship I know it would take a lot of hard work to do that that’s why I am up for the challenge.”
Zeke plays hard on both ends of the floor, has the ability to attack the paint and get to the rim. He has good size at the guard position and brings a level of energy to the game that is hard to find. He can knock down mid-range shots out to the three-point line consistently.
His Head Coach at King’s Mountain, Coach Pierce tells PrepHoopsNC, “Zeke is a kid that wakes up before anyone in his house to go outside and shoot. After a 2 hour practice he goes home and shoots more. He has the best form I have seen in a long time. He has a chance to be a big time player.”
There is a little bit of North Carolina basketball royalty in his family, his cousin is Terry Whisnant. Whisnant is a former Cherryville High School star who went on to play for Florida State University and East Carolina University. He is the seventh highest career scorer in NCHSAA history and now plays in the NBDL with the Iowa Energy.
Zeke had a big big summer and attended a few individual camps along with a strong team performance. “This summer went great I was attended a lot of camps this summer handmade a big-name for myself.”
