Skow was a defensive ace for his AAU team, the Southwest Minnesota Stars this past spring and summer. He’s also got a lot of offensive talent which he puts on display on a nightly basis with the Saints.
“I feel like I’m more of an all-around player,” said Skow. “My passing surprised people and this summer for my AAU team, I was a defensive guy. I usually guarded the opposing team’s best player.”
Skow filled up the stat sheet for the Saints, averaging 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in his junior year.
Skow’s drawn interest from several schools from all over the midwest including Gustavus and Jamestown. He’s hoping a big senior year could lead to even more interest.
“I feel like this season could help my recruiting a little bit,” said Skow. “I’m probably going to wait until after the season but you never know.”
St. James won just seven games a year ago, but with most of the team back, Skow’s got high expectations.
“I think our outlook will be very surprising to a lot of people,” said Skow. “We brought back our top two scorers and a bunch of other role guys who played a lot of minutes. So we’re excited.”
