As of now, the 6-foot-2 wing is seeing more serious interest come his way for his prowess on the gridiron.
“I’ve talked to Lafayette a lot, but for football actually. I haven’t really talked with anyone for basketball much, except for Southeastern (LA),” said Banks.
“To be honest, I’m really looking at football, but I wouldn’t mind playing basketball at the next level. But I think I’ll play football.”
He added: “I just flat-out like football better, it’s just more fun to me.”
But with plenty of time for the junior to let things shake out, he’s still eager to see some additional basketball recruitment come in.
“I feel like more colleges will start coming as the season goes on, I’m a much better player than I was last year,” said Banks, who elaborated on his interest from Southeastern.
“They’ve been coming to my games, and I’ve been to a couple of their games, and we’ve just been talking back-and-forth.”
With his junior season on the hardwood quickly approaching, Banks says his role will increase considerably this season for the Rebels.
“Last year my role was more of a defensive guy, I had to guard the other team’s best player and stuff. And this year I’ll have to add some more offense because we lost some of our scorers,” said Banks.
“I just want to do whatever I can to help the team win and help us to achieve our overall goals. I’ll play center if I have to, I just want to win.”
