Those original three offers have ballooned to six, and he picked up his first Division I offer from Air Force in the process.
His Division II offers are from Cedarville, Northwood, Notre Dame College, West Liberty and Salem International
This weekend Gable — PHOH’s 41st-ranked 2017 — will be visiting the Air Force campus in Colorado, and he mentioned which other D1 programs schools have been showing interest.
“I also still have interest coming in from some other low to mid D1s like Austin Peay, New Hampshire, Maine and American U,” said Gable, who says he’ll start really focusing on his recruitment after his senior season.
“I’m just really trying to make the most of my senior season, and then I’ll worry about recruiting and what comes with that after.”
When it comes to the D1 vs D2 question, for Gable it’s simple: find the right fit.
“To me right now it doesn’t really matter. Some big things are the relationship with the coaches, and then just the feel of the school,” he said. “So between Division I and Division II, as long as the playing style and the school fit me, that’s what really matters.”
He added: “I definitely like all the schools that have offered me
But for the time being, he’s focused on his senior season with the Green Wave.
“I’ll really be the real leader this year; I’ll have to be the guy this year. And as long as we get the W nothing else matters,” said Gable. “I’ll have to be the vocal leader and lead my team, that’s the main thing.”
