After a scintillating performance at our Top 250 Expo in Ames he received heavy praise from us as a staff.
Subsequently he rocketed up the 2017 prospect rankings, and currently finds himself at No. 49.
Now, it seems just a matter of time before college coaches discover the good-sized and ultra athletic guard.
“I know a lot of people have committed and I know I haven’t gotten as much interest as I would have liked to. So hopefully I have a big senior season that way I can gain some more interest,” said Moran.
“As of now I’m seeing interest from Grand View and Mount Mercy. And then some of the Division III schools like Coe College and Central, so nothing too serious, but that’s what I’ve gotten so far.”
Moran added: “I really hope I can get some interest from high level coaches. And I know everyone’s goal is Division I, but that’s not necessarily what I’m looking for. I play for the love of the game and I’ll go as high as a I can — wherever I can go I’m totally fine with that.”
The 6-foot-4 guard was displaying fine athleticism during our the Expo in September, and he mentions that as his best asset.
“I’d say one of my best assets is athleticism, and attacking the hoop and making plays for my team,” said Moran. “That’s the best way I can impact a game.”
With his senior season now underway, Moran says his goal for the winter is to lead, and for his team to reach its potential.
“I’m going to have to take on a huge senior leadership role this season,” said Moran. “I think we should be pretty good this season, we have a lot of really nice players and I’m excited for this season to start.”
