Currently, it’s NAIA and Division III programs in contact with the versatile senior.
“I have a little bit of interest from Simpson, and William Penn has been sending me a lot of stuff in the mail and Nebraska-Wesleyan too,” said Campbell, who also participates in track.
“I take track seriously though too, and if I’m able to make it to the next level with track I would. But basketball is the main priority.”
He’s hoping that he can turn some heads this winter while helping his Huskies to another state tournament berth.
“I’m just hoping I play the way I know I can play, and help us win,” said Campbell. “And hopefully some colleges pick up on me, and see a little bit of potential in me.”
Since the completion of his junior season, Campbell says he’s been working to become a more consistent threat on offense.
He averaged 6.7 points on 41 percent shooting last season.
“I’ve been working on finishing better, I was pretty inconsistent at that, so I’ve been working on being more consistent,” said Campbell. “And also hitting the shots that I need to hit, and just being more of a playmaker.”
Now he has his chance to showcase his improvements — the Huskies season starts Nov. 29th at Ankeny.
“I’ll have to pick up some of the slack from Nate (Lee) from last year, so I’m going to have to rebound more and defend bigger post players this year,” said Campbell.
“Also, I’ll need to provide senior leadership. I’m a senior and this is my last go around, so I need to get the most out of this season because there’s no going back.”
