He earned honorable mention honors for the Moorhead paper’s all-area team, completing his second year as a starter. Then he went on to play a rewarding summer with ECI basketball, a Dakota-based AAU program.
Now, with further development and college interest under his belt, Steele is preparing for his junior year.
“I have been working out, shooting hoops, working on drills, and talking with my teammates and just preparing for the season,” Senske said of his recent activity. “My dad said I can’t play football because he doesn’t want me to get hurt for basketball.”
Since he’s no longer the young kid on the team, Senske is also concentrating on stepping up from a leadership perspective.
“I’m working on dribbling because I’m a little loose with my handle at times,” Senske added, “but the most important thing I am working on is being a leader this year. I was announced as a captain, which I was very happy about. This year I want to bring my team down to state so they can all experience it.”
Some colleges have already indicated that they will be keeping track of Senske in what promises to be a big junior year.
“Dakota State, Northern State, UND, SDSU, Nebraska,” Senske listed. “I really just want to focus on my junior year. College will be a big decision… I want to pick the best college for me.”
