Player of the Year: Drew Maschoff, 6’4 G, Ankeny
After starting last season as a the lone junior starter on a senior-laden team, Maschoff is poised to have huge senior season with the Hawks. He’ll lead a new-look Ankeny squad and will utilize great bounce, a tight handle and sharpshooting ability to likely torch opponents all winter. The Sioux Falls commit should be an all-state candidate this season.
First Team
2017 Jacob Rau, 6’7 C, Waukee (13.2 PPG, 65 FG%, 7.9 RPG)
Rau will be the premier big-man in the CIML’s Eastern division, and could average a double-double. Also, just look at that field goal percentage.
2017 Drew Johnson, 5’11 PG, Waukee (11.6 PPG, 40 3FG%, 83 FT%, 2.8 APG)
The Waukee quarterback will shift his focus to combo-guard duties with the Warriors this winter. He had a nice summer, and has Wells Fargo Arena on his mind.
2017 Drew Maschoff, 6’4 G, Ankeny (14.8 PPG, 3.6 APG, 1.9 SPG, 4.3 RPG)
The most talented player in this division, look for the bouncy guard to average north of 20 points per game this season.
2017 Connor Kasperbauer, 6’4 SG, Ankeny Centennial (10.8 PPG, 41 3FG%, 4.6 RPG)
A shooting extraordinaire, this Truman State-commit could lead the division in 3s made this season – leave him open and he’ll burn you.
2017 Jackson Cole, 5’11 PG, Southeast Polk (7.2 PPG, 42 3FG%, 2.3 RPG)
He was the lone junior starter last season for a veteran Rams squad, now it’s his time to shine, and he possesses the talent to do so.

2017 Cade Longnecker, 5’11 G, Waukee
2018 Nathan Johnson, 6’6 SF, Waukee
