Max Farthing is a young man that I had the privilege of watching closely last year during his freshman season at Northwood Temple alongside Guard Dakari Johnson and Josh Nickelberry. Although he didn’t have a high amount of big time scoring games there was times throughout the season where you could easily see his talent and potential. Personally I felt as though he reminded me a lot of Zane Waterman, a 6’8 Fayetteville Academy graduate who is currently a forward at Manhattan University. However As we all know the game of basketball is about the right opportunity and fit so with the transfer of the other young stars from Northwood Temple occurring, Max took his talents to Word of God Christian Academy. So how has he adjusted? Well according to multiple reports Max went for 28 points in his first game for the Holy Rams knocking down 9 treys and shooting an outstanding percentage on the night.
What does he bring to Word of God?
First of all Max bring some outstanding shooting to the squad, he’s got nice form on his shot, and at his height doesn’t have much of an issue getting his shot off. He also has a very good IQ for the game, while watching him play you will see countless time where he will he pass up a good shot to get a great shot. Initially when you see him and his slender frame you may think that he doesn’t have the ability to bang inside at all but that couldn’t be further from the truth. He’s much stronger than he looks and attack the paint without fear as well as battling inside consistently for loose balls and rebounds. Max is a young man whose recruitment will blow up very soon, he’s definitely due for a big time year and he’s already off to a good start.
