Cyncier HarrisonDavidson Day is a team that is in transition. They have 7 upper class players led by Jr Gavin Rickard. We expect good things from Gavin this year as his role will increase significantly from last year. Davidson Day and Head Coach Jeff Coble will really begin to look to their future this year as our three Freshman and a 8th grader will push their upper class guys for varsity minutes. 8th Grader Cyncier Harrison (Team United) is going to be a special player. He is a PG that plays light years beyond his age. He is a 5’8” lefty that can handle the ball against most pressure, can score, and makes grown up decisions with the ball. Freshman Will Coble (PSB) , Mark Breunig (PSB), and CJ Huntley (Team Felton) will also push for time on varsity this year. Will is a 5’10” guard that can help handle against pressure and shoots it well from deep. Will has well over a 6′ reach which makes him an effective defender as well. Mark Breunig is a 6’5” forward that has a deadly touch out beyond the arc. He will also help us rebound the ball which is something we have really struggled with over the past year. Freshman CJ Huntley is new to Davidson Day School this year. He is a 6’5” forward with tremendous length and sports a size 16 shoe and is definitely still growing. He will also help with rebounding and can stretch the defense with his shooting. The upper class is as follows:
Alex Sabates – 6’4” forward, sr – Inside out player
Garvin Stewart – 6’2” Forward sr – Strong player that plays bigger than his height
Burns Kollme – 6’0 Guard sr – Will help with ball handling and is a threat from 3
Amadi Scott – 6’1 forward sr – athletic player that has worked to improve his shot and handle
Gavin Rickard – 6’1” wing/forward jr – Expect him to lead the group of youngsters. Hard worker that plays all over the floor.
Matt McMahan – 6’1” wing jr – Transfer from North Iredell. Good shooter.
Matthew Hines – 6’0 wing jr– Will help provide depth at the wing spots
Davidson Day is scheduled to play at East Lincolns Holiday event Dec 27-29. They aren’t in a conference this year as the school decided to get out of the PAC-IS after last year.
