And though he is yet to receive an official scholarship offer, several Division II, Division III and NAIA programs have him on their radars.
“There’s a D2 in Wisconsin that I’ve been talking to, Wisconsin-Parkside. And then I’ve had schools that wanted me to go on campus visits, like Morningside and Briar Cliff, Northwestern. And I’ve been talking to Wisconsin-Platteville, they talk to me a lot,” said Lange.
“Wisconsin-Parkside actually has an offer out to another kid, and he doesn’t know where he’s going yet. That was the last offer they could give out, but they did have me send them some video. But I think the closest to offering me is probably Morningside or Briar Cliff.”
With a very good team in place for the 2016/17 season, Lange is confident his recruitment will be dependent on the success of his team.
“The way I see it is that our team will get a lot more attention than we’ve ever had, and that will help with my recruitment,’ he said. “If you’re playing well on a winning team I think it will open up some options for me.”
After a spring and summer playing with the Martin Brothers’ 17U squad, Lange was able to sharpen his skills against some of the best players in the country.
“Martin Brothers is just like a family, we do everything together. This was one of the funnest summers that I’ve had in my whole life,” said Lange. “We got to play the best players in the country, and see what’s really out there and how we match up against them.”
Now he’ll head into his senior season, and says all that matters to him is getting Ws.
“Our biggest thing this year is we didn’t lose anyone, we have all five starters coming back. And we have five guys I believe that can come off the bench and play just as well as our starters, and I think that’s the best part about our team this year,” said Lange, who averaged 19.2 points per game last season.
“For me this year is just all about winning, that’s all I care about. And whatever I have to do to make that happen is what matters.”
