The Crusaders are a talented team and Plombom is coming off a 16.7 points per game season as a sophomore. What’s wild is that there is plenty of room for even more growth to his game.
“To prepare for the season I’m really focusing on getting bigger and gaining weight while also improving my shooting so I can be more consistent,” Mitchell told NHR.
“Goals for this year is to be the best player and teammate I can be and ultimately making it to the state tournament and have a shot to play against the best teams in state.”
Cathedral won 20 games a year ago but they do lead some valuable seniors. That said there is a lot coming back.
“We have a little bit of everything whether it’s handling the ball, shooting, or rebounding, and we are especially ready to get at it on defense,” Plombon said.
Mitchell will at worst be a prospect that several NSIC schools want in their program in the future. At the time four schools are showing the most interest.
“I’m hearing the most from University of Sioux Falls, Drake, U of Mary, St Cloud State,” Mitchell said.
Plombon has taken a couple visits and will soon take another to a South Dakota school.
“I have been to Minnesota State-Moorhead, St. Cloud State, and I’m planning on going out to University of Sioux Falls but I don’t know when yet. I’m also excited to explore all the options.”
