With his recruitment already starting to heat up a bit — Division II and Division III interest — Duax still has the whole winter to pick up some interest and potential offers.
There are two schools of particular interest right now for the senior wing.
“I have been contacted by quite a bit of schools, but I haven’t gotten offers yet, so I’m still considering my options. Recently I’ve been talking to some D2 and D3 schools, like Upper Iowa and (Wisconsin) Oshkosh, and I’m interested in those two quite a bit,” said Duax.
“I’m hoping for a bigger school to play at, but I want to play basketball in college, anywhere that works best for me. I’d consider playing NAIA, it depends on the school.”
A shooter who led the Mustangs in scoring last season as a junior, Duax defined his playing style to PHIA.
“I think one of my main strengths is my shooting ability, and I’ve been getting better at getting to the hoop and finishing around the rim,” said Duax. “I’m trying to improve my ball-handling at the moment, so I can bring the ball up the court more.”
Now, his senior season is just weeks away, and he and his team have big expectations.
“This is our last season together, so I think we should be pretty good. We’ve been playing together since we were really young so we have pretty good chemistry, and I think we should be one of the top teams in the state this year,” said Duax.
“We can all score about the same, and one of my goals is to average double-digit points and help get my teammates opportunities.”
