The 6-foot-2 Worthy helped lead the Vikings to a 27-3 record and a unbeaten MECKA-4A conference record. A loss in the NCHSAA 4A Regional Finals to eventual state champion Charlotte Catholic would end their season.
Worthy is a quick in the open floor, he can attack off the dribble, can finish at the rim, and has great court vision. He can knock down mid-range jump-shots with consistency and is great at passing the basketball to the right place. He is blessed with elite athleticism and had his first in-game dunk as a 7th grader playing for QCAA during a summer contest. He was named his age group MVP at the “Godfather’s” Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions when he was also a 7th grader. Worthy has already picked up a offer from Winthrop University and is starting to get interest from many other Division One schools.
