Rising sophomore, 6-foot guard Raishaun Brown is going to be a key for Carolina Day School this season as they try to get back to the glory days of boy’s basketball. PrepHoopsNC had a chance to talk with Raishaun about his summer and what’s in store for the upcoming season.
PrepHoopsNC: How is the fall workouts going so far for you?
Raishaun Brown: Fall workouts have been going well for my team and I. We are really putting in work trying to be the best we can be.
PrepHoopsNC: Who are some of the players you look up to from around the area who have made an impact on you?
Raishaun Brown: A person I would consider myself looking up to is obviously Jordan Shepherd, I met him at the local YMCA when I was in 5th or 6th grade and we always would text each other asking if we were going to the gym that day and workout. Jordan and I have that same type of work ethic, we both want to always be the best and be better than anyone on the court and I hope we continues that at Oklahoma #GoSooners.
PrepHoopsNC: What are your goals for this season?
Raishaun Brown: My goals for this upcoming season is definitely to win the state championship; We fell a little short of it last year but I really like to push my teammates and make us better.
PrepHoopsNC: How is your recruiting going? What schools have reached out?
Raishaun Brown: As far as recruiting, I know UNCA was looking at me since I went to their elite camp a couple of weeks ago. My trainer Will Lewis has some connections and he was able to get Virgina Tech, UNLV, and UCF some slight interest you could say. I have to send in game film or an highlight tape to them and see how it goes from there.
