Not just the conference’s best player, but one of the best players in the state, period. Small is on a short list of guys who could realistically be the best scorer in Iowa this season. He averaged 25.7 per game last winter, and is Iowa’s leading returning scorer. He assists, plays D, and rebounds too. It’s no wonder why he as a Division I offer (offer).
First Team
2017 Jay Small, 6’1 G, Hinton (25.7 PPG, 6.3 APG, 2.0 SPG, 6.1 RPG)
He’s the War Eagle’s leading returning scorer and assist guy, and he can light it up from deep. He’ll have a huge senior season. And he might lead the state in scoring.
2017 Jordan Kyle, 6’4 F, Harris-Lake Park (17.9 PPG, 56 FG%, 3.8 APG, 1.7 SPG, 9.0 RPG)
A do-it-all forward who will fill up the stat sheet each night out for the Wolves.
2017 Jacob Wesselmann, 6’3 G, Remsen St. Mary’s (11.7 PPG, 4.5 APG, 2.4 SPG, 5.1 RPG)
Big guard who is the leading returning steals guy in the conference. Wesselmann gets it done on both ends of the ball.
2017 Nicholas Ruden, 6’4 PF, Remsen St. Mary’s (12.6 PPG, 48 FG%, 4.2 RPG)
The leading returning scorer on one of the conference’s best team’s. Ruden and Wesselmann will have the Hawks in contention for a conference title.
2017 Adam Hasselquist, 6’5 C, Hinton (8.0 PPG, 58 FG%, 1.7 BPG, 9.6 RPG)
The guy down low for the Blackhawks, Hasselquist nearly averaged a double-double last season, and should accomplish that feat this season.
