Iowa’s 135th-ranked 2017, Fick is the only ranked senior in the Top of Iowa East. Last season as a junior, the Vikings big-man was one of just a handful of players in the state to average a double (points, rebounds). He is able to to step out and hit a 3-ball too. We expect Fick to put up huge numbers this winter.
First Team
2017 Tom Fick, 6’3 F, Northwood-Kensett (16 PPG, 10.6 RPG)
The conference’s leading returning scorer from last season was also the rebounding leader. Can step out and hit a 3 too.
2018 Drew Olson, 6’2 PG, Osage (11.5 PPG, 50 FG%, 3.6 APG, 2.4 SPG, 4.0 RPG)
A do-it-all point guard for the Green Devils, Olson could challenge Fick for POY honors. He’s a solid shooter who could score in bunches this season.
2018 Ben Boerjan, 6’1 G, Saint Angsar (12.5 PPG, 39 3FG%, 6.3 RPG)
The Saints’ leading returning scorer and rebounder will undoubtedly be the team’s go-to guy as a junior.
2018 Zach Bushbaum, SG, Rockford (11 PPG, 45 3FG%, 3.0 RPG)
The conference’s best shooter, Bushbaum shot more 3s, made more 3s, and shot higher percentage than anyone else last season.
2017 Travis Fekkers, 6’2 G, West Fork (9.1 PPG, 2.3 APG, 2.0 RPG)
With a slew of seniors graduating, Fekkers (the lone returning starter) will see his stats balloon this season.
Second Team
2019 Brady Gatton, 6’1 F, Newman Catholic
2018 Justin Farnsbrough, 5’11 G, Newman Catholic
2017 Daniel Hennigar, 6’2 F, Central Springs
2018 Dylan Clipperton, 5’10 PG, North Butler
2018 Lucas Shwamann, 6’3 F, Osage
Honorable Mention: Christopher Andrews (Newman Catholic), Zack Martinek (West Fork), Nathan Bushbaum (Osage), Josh Stills (Central Springs), Cole Wilert (Saint Angsar), Jake Staudt (Rockford), Dayton Hansen (Nashua-Plainfield), Chaska Hunt (Nashua Plainfield)
